Things have been happening

Posted by on Aug 11, 2015

Hello! It’s been a while since we updated our news page – oops! It’s been very busy but fun – our Spring and Summer terms have been and gone, we’ve had some lovely new members join us and our Summer Concert was once again a fantastic night! We also had our social event in Motherwell which was a great night too. The Summer Concert is the highlight of our calendar and was a great buzz for all involved once again. The choir sounded amazing and the soloists were fantastic – well done everyone! The band were excellent too, with the first class John Speirs on bass, Conor Smith on guitar and Ewan Laing on drums. Our special guest Claire Hastings (BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2015) is also a huge talent and gave a wonderful performance, the choir joining her in singing Coorie Doon. Shona is busy working on new arrangements for the coming year – some great songs coming up! She’s also been very busy with releasing new recordings and performances of her own (see www.shonabrown.com for more). We restart the week beginning 14th September, refreshed and raring to go (what else could we be after the summer we’ve had?!). We’re looking forward to seeing everybody again and welcome some new faces to the choir too – we’ve had a lot of interest so if you know of anybody who may also like to join us, please do invite them along. That’s all for now folks, next update in 2016 😉 Andy &...
